One of the best values in Medicare health plans is the Medicare Advantage/Prescription Drug Plans offered by private companies like Quality Health Plans.  These plans offer complete healthcare as well as Part D drug coverage in most cases for $0 plan premium.  There is no need to pay $40 or $50 per month to get Part D drug coverage.  You can get comparable coverage without paying a plan premium. 

There is little difference between  the coverage of a stand-alone plan and that provided by a Medicare Advantage Plan because Medicare requires that all drug plans meet stringent requirements.  Likewise, there is no need to avoid a managed care plan because the stand-alone plans are generally managed just as aggressively as are Medicare Advantage Plans.
