Dr. Nazeer Khan’s
approach to health care administration is heavily influenced by
his experiences as a physician. He believes that superb care of
the patient is always an uncompromising priority, but dramatic
improvement in cost-effectiveness can be achieved through the
elimination of inefficiencies. Dr. Khan is passionate about
leading Quality Health Plans, Inc. to focus on proactive,
evidenced-based medicine and eliminating waste in utilization. To
achieve this goal, he has developed an enterprise-wide strategy
that focuses on assertive disease management programs, efficiency
training for practitioners, aggressive negotiation with vendors
and a streamlined reimbursement process.
Dr. Khan
achieved his Board Certification in Internal Medicine and is
licensed to practice in Florida and Illinois. A graduate of Rush
Medical College, he trained in Internal Medicine at Rush
Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical center in Chicago, IL. On
completion of his medical training, he was invited to become a
Chief Resident – a sought-after position with responsibilities for
leading and educating medical trainees. During his academic
medical career, Dr. Khan was awarded numerous teaching and service
awards.
During his clinical
training, Dr. Khan also became involved in health
services administration. Some of his projects
included a pre-visit internal review for the Joint
Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare
Organizations (JCAHO) and implementation of clinical
and utilization management programs.
